A report from Census.Gov highlighted the childcare crisis gripping the U.S. due to Covid-19.
Listen to this:
“Women ages 25-44 are almost three times as likely as men to not be working due to childcare demands.”
This is a HUGE problem.
And likely to affect working moms and dads for the foreseeable future.
What’s more is:
- There’s been limited options for childcare during the pandemic
- Working moms have carried the heaviest burden
- Parents of young kids have had to juggle demands differently than everybody else
A related report on the effects of labor shocks during the Pandemic said the following (which blew our minds):
“There was no effect on working fathers or working women without school age children.”
Unbelievable.
If You’re In This Group You’re Not Alone
Bottom line: The pandemic has been TOUGH on working parents, and especially Moms. So if you’ve been feeling like this last year has been a struggle, whether financially or emotionally, it’s not all in your head and you are not alone.
If you’re a working parent, how has Covid-19 affected you?
