You could finally have a day as a parent without rushing from one thing to the next.
It’s about finding the secret to “work-life balance”…
Yes, some crush it (we see you & we’re either jealous or haters)
But for so many, it’s the opposite!
For them, their weekdays fly by in a whirlwind like this:
- The alarm goes off.
- You leap out of bed.
- Make a bottle.
- Pick up the crying baby.
- Settle into the morning feeding.
- As soon as the baby’s finished eating, you hand them off to your partner and make a mad dash to the shower to clean up.
- Get dressed. Blow-dry your hair. Hop in the car…
- Everyone darts of to work.
- You grind through. Come home. Make Dinner. Get the wee one off to bed. And take 20 minutes for yourself…
And at the end of the day?
Only to wake up the next day and repeat.
But it doesn’t have to be like this…
Not at all!
There are a few simple changes you can start making TODAY that will make all the difference.
And, they take less than 5 minutes to start.

3 Tips For Work-LIfe Balance
#1. Set your coffee pot to auto brew.
But I didn’t do this for a LONG time.
And I figure if I wasn’t doing it, I figured neither were a lotta others?
Now, I know what you’re probably thinking: “No kidding!.”
But this isn’t just about coffee.
It’s about the single resource every parent could use more of:
And we need to take steps to reclaim it.
At least start taking steps to stop losing it so much too trivial tasks.
Like trying to get the coffee going in the morning AFTER you get up.
So don’t wait! Do this:
Start with setting the coffee to auto brew – save yourself 5 or 6 minutes.
Then from there start thinking about other ways to use tech to save yourself a few minutes here and there.
Do this a few times and you’ll uncover hidden hours in your day.
I call this a “time audit,” and it’s saved me HOURS each week.
I’ve got a 1-year-old. And for a long time, I didn’t think I had any extra time to work on a blog or write…
Until I dialed in and audited my time. And realized I had about two hours in my day I could be working on stuff.
#2. Teach your kid HOW to do stuff.
For a lot of new parents (maybe you?) this sounds like common sense. But many don’t do this. For example: when the budding toddler starts to stand up, you gotta ALSO teach them how to sit down.
But how does this save you time?
Because the sooner you start teaching them how to do stuff on their own, the sooner YOU get to stop doing it for them.
And this pays long term (for you and for them).
Another one who might need some training:
#3 Cross-train Your spouse (And Get ’em OFF their Butt)
You need help. Parenting is tough. You can’t do it all on your own.
Why should you have to?
Having some backup is key.
How many times has this happened?
You need something.
You look around…
And your spouse is buried in his phone. Or eyeing up the video game console. Or otherwise distracted by the game on TV…
He needs to step it up. Be a man. Get off his butt and take out the recycling, empty the trash, and change some poopy diapers.
No, not every Dad slacks in this way.
But a lot of them do!
